Understanding the Basics of Detailing (Plastics)

When thinking about detailing your car, it can seem a little overwhelming. This blog was started in order to give people an idea of what they can do to take care of their vehicle outside of professional details or car washes. The biggest part of most vehicles are the interior plastics. Keeping them clean can be as simple as dusting them off with a microfiber towel from time to time.

For more advanced stains such as dirt, mud, or other contaminants, a simple All Purpose Cleaner (APC) and microfiber towel can get the job done right very quickly. The key to keeping your vehicle looking its best is consistent maintenance; even a simple stain if left unchecked for a long time can turn out to be a much more difficult cleaning job.

Some of the risks that not cleaning your plastics are an increased risk of rooted stains, sun-fading their appearance, especially on black plastics, cracking, and some plastics can even begin to slightly melt leading to a permanent sticky feeling.

Our usual cleaning services that we offer disinfect the surfaces and give them a conditioner that keeps them protected from sun-fading, our skin’s oils, discoloration, and cracking. This results in better looking plastics that can be expected to last for even longer.
